Pridnestrovian athlete sets European deadlift record

Anatoly Semerenko has lifted 215 kg

Tiraspol, 28 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian athlete Anatoly Semerenko took part in the European deadlift championship, which took place on Rostov-on-Don. Powerlifters from Russia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Mongolia and Pridnestrovie took part in the competition.

According to Radio 1, among athletes under 49 and in the weight category to 82.5 kg Semerenko lifted 215 kg. This is the standard for the master of sports degree in Pridnestrovie and Russia and the European record in this age group.

His son, Alexander Semerenko, succeeded among youngsters under 19. In the category up to 67.5 he gained 492.5 kg. This is higher than the standard for the master of sports.

Alexander also showed the best result of 182.5 kg among all competitors in the barbell squatting.
