Tiraspol, 23 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. As Novosti Pridnestrovya reported, to Moldova there arrives the General of the U.S. Air Force, the commander of the US European Command and the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe Philip Breedlove.
It is known that during a two-day visit Breedlove will meet the President of Moldova and the Minister of Defence, the Bulboaca National Military Training Centre modernized with the US support.
Influence of the EU and NATO on Moldova has already been unconcealed in recent years, but it has been strengthened even more these days. This fact doesn't remain unnoticed both in Moldova and in Pridnestrovie.
As the Pridnestrovie's Acting Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev noted in his interview to our agency, visit of the top US emissary is, first of all, a demonstrative action and demonstration of the fact that the military, political and ideological influence of the USA and NATO extends to the territories neighboring to the NATO states.
«In this context, the Republic of Moldova is a suitable venue for external influence which has de facto refused from its declared constitutional neutrality, has lost its internal immunity and in recent years has become a satellite state and an active recipient of the US military and political help," the Foreign Minister believes.
According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, long ago the Moldavan neutrality became an «absolute myth which can be easily broken after the first collision with reality». «And the reality is that the Moldavan military personnel participates in the NATO peacekeeping operation in Kosovo, NATO Days are held in Moldova, NATO Information Center is open and functioning. Last year in contact with the Security Zone and with the involvement of American and Romanian military personnel, unauthorized military maneuvers were made. The Moldavan officials, namely those ones from the Defense Ministry, actively advocate for cooperation of the RM and NATO structures," Vitaly Ignatyev emphasized.
It is also notable that the visit of the US «auditor» occurs at the time when we see some plan of fast annexion of Moldova by the NATO member Romania and a request for the Moldavan citizenship by the ex-President of Romania Traian Basescu.
«Along with it, Philip Breedlove's visit is an aspect of a large-scale regional geopolitical opposition. And Pridnestrovie is literally on the frontline here. Our State as the main outpost of the Russia's strategic interests in the region effectively contributes to the preservation of the Russian military-political presence on the Dniester, which provides the rights and freedoms of 200 thousand citizens of the Russian Federation, promoting unity with the Russian historic, educational and other traditions, is under the concentrated pressure more than ever today," Vitaly Ignatyev emphasized.
That's why, according to the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister, only providing support and strengthening Pridnestrovie in all important spheres, such as political, economic, information, social and humanitarian ones, Russia «has a potential to effectively resist the growth of the US influence in the Eastern Europe aimed, first of all, at blocking and minimization of the Russian national interests».
