Tiraspol, 18 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Ukrainian envoy in negotiation process on Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement, Ambassador-at-large Valery Zhovtenko visited the Pridnestrovian capital. Within the visit to the Pridnestrovie's MFA, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of PMR Vitaly Ignatyev received the Ukrainian diplomat.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister told about the current situation in the negotiation process in details and also informed about some results of the first meetings with the representative on political affairs from the Republic of Moldova in 2016 and noted the fact that negotiation stagnated at the moment.
In the course of the dialogue with the Ukrainian diplomat Vitaly Ignatyev noted that they were losing the momentum in interaction at various negotiation levels due to the fact that, «despite the declared commitment to the dialogue, the Moldovan counterparts torpedo the normal systematic work of expert (working) groups».
«Our Ukrainian colleague told that he advocates the substantive dialogue. According to him, imitation of negotiations is not the choice of the Ukrainian side. It was noted also that the main work had to be carried out at the level of profile expert groups," the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister told following the results of the dialogue with Valery Zhovtenko.
During conversation with the media, Vitaly Ignatyev expressed hope that contacts with the Ukrainian side would deal not only with the negotiation process on Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement, but also the bilateral relations between Pridnestroivie and Ukraine. «I think that we will be able to establish open communication with our partners, including the Ukrainian envoy in the negotiation process," he noted.
