Tiraspol, 18 February. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The government has enacted a regulation today on the reduction of gas tariffs for Pridnestrovian enterprises producing meat, milk, eggs and processed meat and milk raw products and earning 70% of their income by selling their own products.
The document provides for the price of gas used for power production and gas supply at 1,011 roubles and 1,021 per 1,000 cubic metres, respectively.
«This will allow them to reduce energy supply costs against other gas consumers by 50% on gas and by 0.3−0.5 roubles per 1 kWt/h on electric power (depending on a type of the network the enterprise is attached to)," explained the chairman of the Price and Antimonopoly Committee, Vitaly Ulitka.
As a result, this will help reduce the final cost of domestic products and increase its competitiveness with imported food products that became cheaper due to the devaluation of the Russian rouble, hryvna and leu.
«We have estimated today's provision with milk at 34% and meat with 18% from what is required; therefore, we find it relevant and necessary to provide state support to local manufacturers. It is not the only measure, by the way, we have already introduced barriers duties for imported meat and milk products," said the acting agriculture minister, Svetlana Timotina.
As was noted at today’s government meeting, the regulation will apply to 33 Pridnestrovian companies.
«We are going the right way: such measures of support for domestic manufacturers exist in many countries of the world," underscored the chairman of the government, Pavel Prokudin.
