«The US colleagues are negotiators on the Pridnestrovian settlement and namely observers in the 5+2 format. We regard US colleagues the same as all participants of negotiation process. Perhaps, these consultations aren't so comprehensive as those with our friends from the Russian Federation, intermediaries from Ukraine and the OSCE, nevertheless, we exchange our ideas, viewpoints on these or those issues concerning the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova," the diplomat noted.

During the meeting, the Pridnestrovie's President and the US Ambassador discussed the current situation in the dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova emphasizing the problems in differnet areas of social, economic, humanitarian and legal interaction in details. The Pridnestrovie's President expressed overwrought angst about the issues concerning detentions and in-depth checks of the Pridnestrovie's public officials in the Kishinev airport and also moral pressure, provocations and unreasonable requirements for the Pridnestrovie's citizens crossing the RM border.

The sides also mentioned other concerns impeding the functional dialogue between all participants of the negotiation process and exchanged opinions on its future in the next months.

«The President assessed the unilateral decision of the Moldavan and Ukrainian authorities very strictly," Dmitry Palamarchuk told following the results of the meeting. «The situation with freight railway communication, when unilateral actions of the RM and Ukraine caused serious negative developments, was discussed. The issue concerning the criminal cases was also the topic of the discussion, the lack of commitment on the part of the Moldavan representatives in finding compromise was noted in this sphere. During the meeting, the Pridnestrovie's President emphasized that there hadn't been meetings between the political representatives within the 1+1 format since October of the previous year. It is important to restart the work of this format along with the work of the expert groups and to elaborate positive decisions aimed to improve the welfare of the Pridnestrovie's population," the Pridnestrovie's Deputy Foreign Minister noted.
