All that occurs in Moldova now is a typical example of deep political crisis, and those actors who have held the power in the country, obviously, lose control over the situation and don't know what to do further. Such opinion was expressed by the leading researcher of the Russian Institute for Strategic Research Vasily Kashirin.
It is a reminder that, since autumn of 2015, the prime minister hasn't been elected in Moldova yet. One or another candidate was foredoomed to failure. When the parliamentary majority met after the New Year's vacation, they decided to give a chance to take office of the head of the government to the large Moldavan oligarch Vladimir Plakhotnyuk. Reaction of the Moldova's president was immediate — Nikolay Timofti rejected the candidate and offered the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Ion Pedurara. However, this candidate withdrew from consideration next day. Then, the Moldavan president signed a decree on appointment of the Information Technologies Minister Pavel Phillip as a candidate for prime minister. Now, the matter depends on the parliament.
Earlier on, the Constitutional Court of Moldova found that if deputies hadn't approved the new government by January 29, the parliament of the republic would be dismissed.
«All this merry-go-round of the last days concerning the nominations and later withdrawals of new candidates for prime minister is a result of the present regime in Moldova — financial and political oligarchy. All these names are very famous; all of them have odious reputation, especially Plakhotnyuk — the main oligarch of Moldova. And nomination of the new candidacy of Fillip is surely a certain strike over Plakhotnyuk who wanted to try on the prime minister's office. However, for the western structures, this person is too odious, too unacceptable as the head of the government. That's why he had to withdraw a little," the Russian expert considers.
According to Kashirin, all this is demonstrative and important for Pridnestrovians — they can see the results of oligarchic political domination in the country when large business structures start manipulating politicians, political parties; take the whole branches of power, courts, parliament under their control. «I hope that there won't be such a situation in Pridnestrovie," the leading researcher of the RISR emphasized.
Appearance of one publication of some Da Vinci AG in some Ukrainian and Moldavian mass media is notable in the fervor of political struggle for the premier's seat and barrage of clamour in Kishinev this week. It notes that the possibility of revolution masterminded by certain pro-Russian forces is high in Moldova today. Also in their investigation, it was told about «subversive activities» of the Russian Institute for Strategic Research.
All such imputations aren't justified, Vasily Kashirin says, because all revolutions in the former Soviet Union were organized absolutely by other countries.
«It is a private consulting and analytical company in Kiev. Actually, it is a roughly made fake. On the other hand, the fact that this fake of such small office was immediately distributed in Ukrainian as well as Moldovan mass media shows that they know and recognize our institute's work. We have old relations with the Moldovan authorities. We consider it as certain recognition of our efforts. Certainly, they know that we work persistently in favor of Russia and for strengthening of relations between Russia and Pridnestrovie in the region, and they cannot forgive us it for that," Vasily Kashirin says.
