Tiraspol, 24 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A stable exchange rate of Pridnestrovie's currency should be further maintained, said the president during the year-end press conference.
The head of state informed citizens that he is aware of the opinion of some exporters that it is necessary to depreciate the national currency to increase the competitiveness of domestic economic agents in foreign markets. However, according to the president, «it is necessary to show political will» and try to further maintain a stable rate of rouble.
At the same time Yevgeny Shevchuk underscored that the implementation of such a monetary policy depends on external factors as well.
«There will be no changes in 2015. As for 2016, I want to notice that nobody can precisely forecast the influence of external factors on many economic components, including our potential to maintain the exchange rate of the national currency," said the president.
«We must attempt impossibilities, but there are certain economic laws anyway, certain disproportions which cannot be ignored," concluded the head of state.
