During his visit to Dubossary President Yevgeny Shevchuk inspected the implementation of the programme for repairing and reconstructing social facilities. Initially, it had comprised seven educational and healthcare objects in Dubossary district. However, as was reported by Novosti Pridnestrovya, it was decided to supplement the programme with Dubossary secondary school 2, which the president also visited today.
As of today, nearly 600 children attend this school, and 74 of them are first-formers. According to the school teachers, there has not been any repair of the school for about 20 years.
Talking to the teachers, the president noted that there is a need to repair not only this school, but also many other schools as almost no funds have long been allocated for the education infrastructure.
He underscored that even in the Soviet era so many social objects had not been repaired at the same time. «Now we have certain opportunities, Russia's assistance, reserves of the humanitarian fund. We will accumulate and allocate all funds to this sector, for children to grow healthy and obtain good knowledge," said the head of state.
Yevgeny Shevchuk also visited Dubossary's central polyclinic, which is part of the district hospital, and a number of other social facilities included in the reconstruction programme. In the polyclinic the replacement of windows is nearing the completion. According to the healthcare minister, Tatyana Skrypnik, the works will be completed in early December.
«The Healthcare Ministry has also plans to mend the polyclinic's facade and roof," said the minister in an interview to Novosti Pridnestrovya.
Tatyana Skrypnik also said that the new equipment supplied in the framework of the social insurance fund programme is in extensive use at hospital. This equipment has helped to make nearly 1,800 medical analyses in Dubossary over the past four months.
Today the president also paid an unscheduled visit to A. Stoyev Grigoriopol Secondary School 2 and a secondary school in Butor village.
