The World Juniour Sambo Championship was held between October 9 and October 11 in the Olympic Sports Center in Riga. Young athletes from more than 30 countries took part in the competitions. Young men and girls compete for 40 sets of medals on three wrestling mats, it is reported on the website of the Sport State Service.
Bendery resident Sabina Artemchuk also took part in the competitions. Young athlete trains at Badanov Wrestling School directed by Sergey Shakhov. The World Championship was quite successful for Sabina, she won a bronze medal in category under 72 kg. After beating her rival from Serbia, our athlete lost in wrestle to the world champion from Russia.
