According to the president's press office, before filling in corresponding forms, the head of the State Agency for Statistics, Natalya Sluchinskaya, informed the president about the level of readiness for Pridnestrovie's population census. In particular, it is the first time in Pridnestroive's history the census of every citizen is being done by highly prepared field workers with relation to methodology and other aspects necessary to assure its organisation.
«The population census is very important for the state. Its results will be used for elaborating the country's development strategy. Based on the UN recommendations, every state holds population censuses at certain intervals," underscored the president. Yevgeny Shevchuk also called on Pridnestrovian citizens to take active part in the population census.
For reference: The population census covers 100% of Pridnestrovie's territory. All PMR citizens, stateless persons, foreigners who permanently reside or are temporarily staying in Pridnestrovie are subject to census. Citizens will be questioned at their place of residence by specially trained census takers.
The census officially starts at 0:00, 14 October 2015, and its data are relevant to this date and time.
