The president signed a decree for leave without pay and release for performing administrative and official duties from 13 October to 30 November 2015 for the chairperson of Pridnestrovie's government.
The deputy chairman of the government and minister of regional development, transport and communications, Vasily Vlasov, and the deputy chairman of the government on legal regulation and interaction with public authorities, head of the government's staff, Alexander Ksnichan, also informed the president on their decision to run for Pridnestrovie's parliament, the president's press office reports.
«Today is a very difficult time for our citizens and our country when the main thing is required — consolidation of the society and all branches of power. The executive and legislative branches must work as a single mechanism to achieve common goals — decent life for Pridnestrovians and prosperity of our country. In this difficult situation, the last thing we need is a split and faction. Alongside my colleagues I have determined to run for the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic in order to give the opportunity to our citizens to elect and represent their interests in the Supreme Council," noted Tatyana Turanskaya.
According to her,"the work of the government is properly organised and the fact that the government's leadership being on leave will not cause a problem.»
As was noted by Alexander Kishnichan, his work has been closely connected with the Supreme Court over the past several years.
«That is why I have a clear understanding of what the Supreme Council must be and the way its work must be organised. That's what we see now in the organisation of the Supreme Council's activity cannot meet the needs of both our citizens and the state. I think that one of core tasks that is set before Supreme Council deputies at the present stage is creating a professional parliament that will represent the Pridnestrovian patriots, where decisions will be taken based on interests of our citizens and the state rather than interests of certain financial groups or a group of economic entities," Alexander Kishnichan believes.
«It is now evident that the parliament has kept itself aloof from solving national problems, from taking important decisions, in particular budget deficit and payment of pensions and salaries. What else shall we expect from the Supreme Council?» asks Vasily Vlasov.
According to him, it is inadmissible to remain inactive in such a situation. «We need a powerful and efficient parliament for the development of our republic and establishment of order, for solving fairly and quickly urgent problems for the benefit of our citizens. For this reason, I have determined to run for the Supreme Council in order to give the right to our citizens to directly elect those who will represent their interests in Pridnestrovie's highest legislative body," noted Vasily Vlasov.
Pridnestrovie's President Yevgeny Shevchuk underscored in his turn that in accordance with the Constitution of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic every citizen has the right to elect and be elected to legislative bodies regardless of a position held.
«Therefore, if you wish, you have the constitutional right to take part in the electoral campaign as candidates for Supreme Council deputies. I wish you success in the campaign. All documents should be arranged in full compliance with the law," noted the president.
