In his speech to SCC officers the president underscored that over the past years the work of Pridnestrovie's customs agency has become more efficient.
«The time when customs tariffs were approved by the president after being agreed on with some commercial structures has passed into history. This made it possible to collect by 60 million more customs duties in 2012−2014," said Yevgeny Shevchuk.
Nevertheless, the economic turmoil in the neighbouring countries have exerted adverse influence on Pridnestrovie's economy. As a result of reduction in trade turnover, the budget fails to receive colossal sums.
Amid the crisis it is necessary to enhance the efficiency of public authorities, Yevgeny Shevchuk believes. However, according to the president, «some are trying to take advantage of the country's difficulties and retain its influence on public authorities.»
The president noted that «one of our vital tasks is suppressing 'grey schemes' and purging public authorities of the employees who trade state duties for the sake of commercial interests.»
«We must do our best to reveal these 'grey schemes' to citizens," underscored Yevgeny Shevchuk.
The president charged the head of the SCC to organise and «conduct the work aimed at purging the committee of the officers whose activities go counter to national interests.»
