The Commander-in-Chief of the Pridnestrovie's Armed Forces emphasized that the Pridnestrovie's army had been one of the main pillars of the state for all those years.
«Military personnel of the Defense Ministry maintain the high level of Pridnestrovie's defense capability in co-ordination with other enforcement authorities. Also, the units of the Defense Ministry take part in the peacekeeping operation on Dniester," the President reminded.
Yevgeny Shevchuk emphasized, peace in the republic would be very fragile without Armed Forces. The President noted that Pridnestrovie suffers from economic and diplomatic war and information sabotages. According to the Head of State, it is also directed «on destruction of the ideological base of enforcement authorities».
«The main function of the Defense Ministry is deterrence of a potential aggressor's ambitions to accommodate political opposition in a military way. You show high moral and ideological stability, carrying out these tasks in the most difficult social and economic conditions," — Yevgeny Shevchuk stated.
According to the President, despite the difficult economic situation, a lot of things were made to increase operational efficiency of the Pridnestrovie's army. It concerns the technology and equipment modernization, command efficiency enhancement.
«There are many positive results, that is, first of all, success of the soldiers, officers and generals," the Head of State told.
During the meeting, the President conferred high state awards upon the distinguished military personnel and the staff of the Defense Ministry.
