This year, the Pridnestrovie's Armed Forces celebrate their 24 anniversary. The decision, coordinated by the Pridnestrovie's Supreme Council and the Government, on creation of the Republican Guard and approved on September 6, 1991 became a starting point in the history of the Pridnestrovie's army. Toward the end of 1991, institutional organization of the Pridnestrovie's Armed Forces was almost complete.
After the end of the armed conflict with Moldova, on September 3, 1992, the Institutional Concept of the Pridnestrovie's Armed Forces was approved. According to it, the main hierarchy of the Defense Ministry was created, new organization and establishment, large and small units, the training and mobilization readiness plans were formulated towards the end of 1992.
The Armed Forces personnel swore a military oath on March 14, 1993.
