In commemoration of the Pridnestrovie's independence 25th anniversary from August 25 the Pridnestrovie's Republican Bank introduces the banknotes with nominal value of 1, 5, 10, 25 rubles and commemorative coins made of base metals valued in 25 rubles.
Commemorative banknotes «25 years of PMR» are distinct in that on the face in the right bottom corner special marking represented by a stylized star with a flag of Pridnestrovie and inscriptions «25 лет образования ПМР» and «1990−2015».
The issues of commemorative banknotes amount to 2525 pieces of each nominal value, and from them 2000 pieces of each nominal value are enveloped into booklets.
The commemorative 25-ruble coin «25 years of formation of PMR» made of base metals supplemented the Statehood of Pridnestrovie series. The coin is made of brass and steel, its diameter is 29 mm, weight is 10 g. Total amount of the issued coins is 5 thousand pieces, enveloped into booklets.
State Emblem of PMR is featured in the center of the coin head side; around a circle — inscriptions: above — «ПРИДНЕСТРОВСКИЙ РЕСПУБЛИКАНСКИЙ БАНК», below — year of coin release, i.e. «2015»; at the top over the national emblem — the nominal value «25», at the bottom under the national emblem — «РУБЛЕЙ».
There is an enlarged inscription «25 ЛЕТ» on the tail side in the center of a disk with the sun in the background, under it — the stylized wheat ears; an inscription «ОБРАЗОВАНИЯ ПРИДНЕСТРОВСКОЙ МОЛДАВСКОЙ РЕСПУБЛИКИ» stretches around the coin.
Commemorative banknotes and coins of 2015 of the Pridnestrovie's Republican Bank made of base metals are legal means of payment in the Pridnestrovie's territory, are obligatory for reception at nominal cost in all types of payments by all organizations irrespective of an ownership form and a field of activity, Public Relations Department of PRB reports.
In in advance of the most important holiday, that is the 25th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the PRB held an international competition on the best sketch for a «25 years of formation of PMR» coin. Alexander Berezovsky from Tiraspol Research and Production Enterprise «Vector» was one of the winners and an author of the best sketch.
