Following the presidential decree of 13 January 2015, the Suvorov Military School was established at the premises of Dzerzhinskiy Republican Boarding School of the Interior Ministry. Here the children will master the elements of military service as well as the educational standards of the general secondary education. They will live in the boarding school according to army regulations.
«Our school has a medical unit, canteen, library and a reading room. Classrooms and labs are equipped with everything needed for organising teaching and educational process," says the schoolmaster, Major Sergey Bychenkov, adding: «Last year we equipped a computer classroom. So the school has everything needed for bringing up the youth in patriotic vein for further education and both military and civil service.»
The Republican Military School admits boys to the 7th grade. Parents and tutors may submit applications for admission to their local military commissariats. The number of places is limited. Documents for admission can be submitted until 1 August.
According to Pridenstrovie's military commissioner, Colonel Vladimir Palchinskiy, preference will be given first of all to orphans, the children of 1992 war combatants and military servicemen's children.
The education at the Suvorov Military School is free. The children will be fully under the care of the state, including food, clothes and accommodation. On days off and holidays the schoolchildren will have the opportunity to visit their parents and relatives, the Defence Ministry press office reports.
