During today's session parliamentarians have accepted the two state target programmes: «Prophylaxis of tuberculosis for 2016−2020» and «Oncology: enhancement of oncological assistance to Pridnestrovie's population for 2016−2020.»

According to the authors of the document, the law «On approval of Pridnestrovie's state target programme 'Prophylaxis of tuberculosis for 2016−2020'" is aimed at preventing TB from spreading across the republic, timely diagnosing TB, treating tuberculosis patients, providing appropriate conditions for medical staff and TB patients at hospitals in compliance with the sanitary regulations and norms.

The implementation of the programme requires 79,095,667 roubles. The funds will be allocated for the enhancement of the medical infrastructure of all antituberculous units by providing anti-TB facilities, hospital departments, and correctional detention facilities with the necessary equipment.

The state target programme «Oncology: enhancement of oncological assistance to Pridnestrovie's population for 2016−2020» aims to enhance the system of the onclological service in the republic. It is to be achieved by implementing new methods of TB prophylaxis aimed at the early detection of tumour and precancerous illnesses, enhancement of the methods of diagnostics, treatment, medical, social and psychological rehabilitation, implementation of up-to-date antitumoral medications.

Besides, the implementation of the programme is caused by the necessity to finish the construction of a new block of the Republican Clinic Hospital, which is designed for centralised accommodation of oncological units with the aim of providing combined treatment of persons with malignant growths.

The implementation of the programme costs 88,033,144 roubles. These funds will be allocated for the purchase of chemical agents, surgery and rehabilitation equipment, medications, as well as for the campaign to inform the population about the prophylaxis and early detection of malignant growths.
