Georgian ex-Prime Minister, the leader of the oppositional Democratic Movement Nino Burjanadze commented on the fact that former Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili was appointed as the governor of Odessa Oblast. According to her, a part of US political establishment can reap benefits of it. Certain American groups can use the escaped Georgian ex-president against Russia. It is referred to the Pridnestrovian Moldavan Republic neighboring on the Odessa Oblast.
It's important to remind that Russia is a guarantor state in the Moldova-Pridnestrovie conflict settlement. The Russian peacekeepers serving to exclude any new armed conflict on the Dniester banks are located in Pridnestrovie. According to Nino Burjanadze, the status of the safety guarantor makes the Russian Federation vulnerable to provocations.
«There are instigators in Washington, they belong to those groups which instigated this new Odessa governor in 2008. Someone in the USA wants to extend sanctions against Russia, and these people are also ready to make provocations against Pridnestrovie with the help of Saakashvili in Odessa. Just as these groups sacrificed Georgia in 2008, so they are ready to sacrifice Ukraine and Moldova for their own interests," Nino Burjanadze quotes the news portal «Russian Spring».
«Flashpoints around Russia are favorable for these groups," the parliamentarian added.
Besides, commenting on the possible appointment as an Odessa prosecutor of the former Justice Minister Zurab Adeishvili wanted by Georgia, Nino Burjanadze also declared that appointments of some infamous politicians to senior positions in the Ukraine do not fall within the scope of Ukraine interests at all. «It proves once again that Ukraine is a project, but not an independent state. The same project was previously carried out in Georgia. So, Odessa will get the some result as Georgia got. What western values do we speak about?! There will be mass violations of human rights under the guise of 'war on corruption'," she told.
«I want to remind that the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights convicted Saakashvili, Adeishvili and others guilty for murder of the bank worker Sandro Ghirgvliani killed by some officials from the Interior Ministry in 2006. Saakashvili and Adeishvili disrupted the investigation. It was acknowledged by the ECHR. Only this fact should be enough to understand everything about them," the ex-speaker added.
