At the economics department resource centre, a conference was held on models of socio-economic development of the state. The round table talk was attended by experts, representatives of the scientific community and from the Ministry of Economic Development, Supreme Council deputies, as well as Pridnestrovie's businessmen and agrarians.
According to the conference participants, any state must maintain its citizens' prosperity, combat inflation and unemployment. Under crisis, it is essential to create such a model that enables authorities to address the existing challenges and adapt to the altered game rules.
The experts underscored that the present model of development in Pridnestrovie was typical of transitional economics, when the command-administrative system is being eventually changed with market relations. According to them, under present day conditions this model could not be efficient.
In the course of the discussion, the participants concluded that it was necessary to unite efforts of dedicated agencies, scientific community, manufacturers and agrarians to elaborate a new model of development which would take into account the specific nature of Pridnestrovie's economy. Their joint work would make it possible to obtain objective evidence of economic indicators and take a complex approach to elaborating an efficient anti-crisis economy concept.
According to the conference organisers, this subject would be a stem for prospective scientific research at the economics department.
