Representatives of the World Health Organization's European office Ute S. Underlein and Dr. Kai V. Harbou, the international adviser of the WHO Geneva office Dr. Marcel Dubois, and also the representative of Moldova office Silviu Ciobanu were a part of the international delegation, the Health Ministry's press service reports.
The urgent medicine issues were discussed at the meeting. The experts were interested in the routine of emergency services and professional institutions of the healthcare system, in particular, the emergency cases, and also the general level of population's health in the republic. Professionals of the Pridnestrovie's Health Ministry already took part in the skills workshop organized by the WHO in March of this year.
«Today's meeting shows that work is continued," Tatyana Skrypnik told. «The Health Ministry considers that urgent medicine is also very important in peace-time at any emergency. In this regard, we consider it necessary and expedient to continue cooperation».
Estimation is one of the main objectives of expert delegation's visit. To evolve further plans of cooperation, first of all, it is essential to make analysis on that how knowledge and skill given at the seminars will be used in practice. During the two-day visit, the guests will find out more about the work of the healthcare institutions. Also, the experts plan to visit the Republican Hygienic and Epidemiological Center dealing with the matters of the public healthcare. The Hygienic and Epidemiological Center takes prophylactic measures, delivers public health education, and when the site of infection emerges it reacts against the incidence and contagion itself.
The Health Minister presented the work of department in emergency situations to the delegates of the WHO.
«I can call a positive moment already now that there is a person responsible for the emergency readiness program in the Health Ministry. It is very good, it is the thing recommended by the WHO," Dr. Marcel Dubois noted.
At the end of the meeting, the WHO representatives invited Pridnestrovie's experts to participate in the next workshop in autumn of 2015.
«We are glad that the World Health Organization pays us so much attention. Our department is ready to cooperate, to work, to make plans and implement them in practice. In return, we will do everything possible to improve the public healthcare system and the health of our citizens in general with the help of our joint efforts," the Health Minister emphasized.
