Today the deputy chairwoman of Pridnestrovie's government for international cooperation, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nina Shtanski, has sent condolences to the prime minister of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Arayik Harutyunyan, and the minister of foreign affairs, Karen Mirzoyan, on Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.
The address of Pridnestrovie's foreign minister says:
«The year of 1915 became one of the most disastrous for the Armenian people. With no prior notice and explanation, the Turkish troops arrested, shot and deported hundreds of thousands of the Armenians. Unbearable conditions were created for Armenian settlements, where people died out from hunger and diseases. More than 1.5 million people became victims of those tragic events. Escaping genocide, millions of the Armenians scattered all over the world, having lost their homes and homeland. One hundred years has passed since that tragedy, but crimes against humanity have no expiration date. On this day Pridnestrovians together with the people of Artsakh are mourning for the genocide victims. I'd like our feeling of empathy for the great sorrow afflicting the Armenians at the beginning of the last century to support the people of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic in their struggle for further revival and solidarity of the Armenian nation.»
