Russian ambassador congratulated Pridnestrovie's veterans of the Great Patriotic War on the forthcoming anniversary of the Victory

All veterans of the Second World War living in Pridnestrovie will receive gifts from the Russian Federation and the PMR until the end of April

The Russian Ambassador Farit Mukhametshin together with the representatives of the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Ministry, the Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk State Administration and the Union of the Russian Communities in Pridnestrovie congratulated the veterans of the Second World War living in the capital of the republic on the forthcaming holiday — the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The campaign was launched today. The ambassador visited three participants of war Nina Stupnitskaya, Pyotr Dmitriyev and Eudoxia Danilevskaya. On behalf of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Farit Mukhametshin awarded the medals dedicated to the Victory Day to the veterans, and also gave them financial aid of 3000 Russian rubles and grocery packages from the Moscow City Government, the Press Service of the capital state administration reports.

The Russian Ambassador noted that all vetrans of the Great Patriotic War, citizens of Russia living in Pridnestrovie, would recieve the anniversary medals and the financial aid. «It is essential to carry out such campaigns today, because these people are the living history, and as long as they are alive, we can see a real picture of those events, to hear the stories from the first hand. For me, for the person who was born after the war, it is sacred, because my parents were at war, and I heard many stories from them about the war," he told.

109 participants of the Great Patriotic War left in Tiraspol today. According to the Deputy Head of the State Administration of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk on Social Issues Natalya Schukina, all of them will receive presents for the Victory Day from the Russia's and Pridnestrovie's authorities. «Our veterans take an active part in the city life. They tell the pupils about the war, share their memories. Today, we also invited the war participants to take part in the festive events in the capital on May 9," Natalya Schukina noted.
