The President's Press Service specifies that the Russian side was represented by the Russian State Duma deputy, the first deputy council chairman of the Communist Parties Union, the secretary of the CPRF Central Committee Kazbek Taysayev, the Pridnestrovie's side — by the Deputy Prime Minister on the International Cooperation, the Foreign Affairs Minister Nina Shtanski and the deputy of the Pridnestrovie's Supreme Council, the Pridnestrovie's Communist Central Committee chairman Oleg Horzhan also participated in the meeting.
They talked about the topical issues of Russia-Pridnestrovie cooperation. The special attention was paid to the Pridnestrovie's social and economic situation aggravated by regional and world instability and also to the measures on minimization of loss caused by crisis. «We would like to examine the situation on the spot, the problems of the Pridnestrovie's national economy in depth," Sergey Gavrilov noted.
«We know that there is no easy solution for the today’s issues in the republic. On the one hand, the position of Ukraine, on the other hand, the position of the today's government in Moldova prevent our home economy from normal development. The events occurring in Ukraine today are, of course, a tragedy. All this affects our life here in Pridnestrovie," Kazbek Taysayev told. «Unfortunately, there are powers which use the economic problems in the country for their own benefit today. There are politicians who consider that «worse is better», it makes an easy way to earn more votes. We think that it is a wrong way. Today, all efforts should be focused only on the one thing, i.e. the support of the worker, in order that the people living on the Pridnestrovie's soil had a normal life. We give maximum support to the President, to his position and to his team».
During the meeting, the Russian members of parliament assured that all fractions of the State Duma support Pridnestrovie without any doubt today and they will do everything to minimize the loss caused by the today's world problems. «Russia has to go through the difficult time, but Russia always has been and will be with Pridnestrovie. I am sure that Pridnestrovians will feel the increase of Russia's support this year," Sergey Gavrilov emphasized.
The Pridnestrovie's President Evgeny Shevchuk was awarded the Order of Fraternal Peoples by the decision of the CPRF Central Council. The Pridnestrovie's Deputy Prime Minister on International Cooperation, the Foreign Affairs Minister Nina Shtanski was awarded the medal 70 Years of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War».
At the end of the meeting, Evgeny Shevchuk expressed gratitude for the support of the Russian citizens and compatriots living in Pridnestrovie to the deputies of the Russian State Duma.
