The Head of State participated in the meeting of the Transport and Road State Service's collegium
According to the President, now the finance directed to the republican roads maintenance is spent much more effectively than a few years ago. It makes possible to mend larger areas of the roadway platform.
Thus, the President expressed gratitude to the entire staff of the republic's road services: "Thanks to all road builders for the roads we have. Whatever is told, these roads are as good as and somewhere even better than those of our neighbors."
The Head of State reminded speaking at the Transport and Road State Service's collegium that the regulatory act restricting heavy vehicle traffic on the public roads in summertime was adopted upon the department's initiative last year. This measure had a good effect on the road condition.
"We see that heavy vehicles rut the road surface. The overweight penalty size cannot be compared to the expenses required for the damaged road surface restoration. If we improve the legislation in this regard, it is necessary to preserve just something that we have now," the President concluded.
