Evgeny Shevchuk: State Customs Committee’s efficiency has increased considerably the recent years

The budget revenue from the cross-border logistics has increased many times in only several years

The amount of the raised customs duties and excise taxes was 18 million USD in 2011, but it increased to 80 million USD in 2013. "There was a four-time growth in only two years, and even in 2014 832 million rubles were collected despite a number of the negative facts concerning the transit of our freights through the Ukraine's territory," Evgeny Shevchuk told at the collegium's meeting.

"It is clear that if this money was provided in 2012, it had been in the economy of 2011 also. This means that a part of economic agents rejected the "shady" business for the legal schemes, and we directed these funds to the budget," the President emphasized.

As for the conditions of the Pridnestrovie's customs agents' work, he emphasized that it was carried out at the close attention of the Moldova's intelligence services. "There have been opened significant amount of criminal investigations against the State Customs Committee's staff recently. We recognize it as the subversive activity aimed to explode the economic security of the state," Evgeny Shevchuk told.

According to the President, the implementation of norms destroying the effective control of the customs authorities in the republic's legislation also doesn't improve the economic situation. "These are the efforts of some enterprises' economic managements to elaborate the rules for the State Customs Committee without regard to the state interests," Evgeny Shevchuk explained.

During his speech, the Head of State also mentioned the general economic situation in the republic and noted its degradation. He also told that the State Customs Committee's staff were the first to face the consequences, i.e. they suffer the real wage cut.
