The parties managed to adopt the agenda and to open the session
As the Pridnestrovie’s cochairman in the JCC Oleg Belyakov noted following the results of the regular session, the decision-making body of the peacekeeping operation is restored and it works again
In his view, the particular contribution in this belongs to the Russian Federation’s representatives encouraging rapprochement of the parties.
For the reference: that the Moldavian party blocked the agenda earlier so that the JCC sessions couldn’t be opened for 7 months.
“The adopted agenda included more than 45 questions concerning the situation in the Security Zone; only 34 of them were the reports of the Joint Military Command,” Oleg Belyakov told.
According to him, also the agenda included the question concerning the freedom of people’s movement within the Security Zone. Besides, the Moldavian party insisted on this point.
“We have the facts of the indictments against the Pridnestrovie’s official authorities’ representatives, the kidnapping facts of the officials in the Security Zone and other issues. The Moldavian party has also certain complaints. We included these questions in the agenda due to the array of the certain events in the Security Zone leading to the complications. The JCC decided to discuss this issue, and we will try to involve the proper parties’ authorities including the political representatives in order to resolve different aspects of this matter. At the same time, we understand that the peacekeeping operation cannot provide endless opportunities as the peacekeeping component is designed to make peace and security only, but at the same time the JCC enables the political developments,” Oleg Belyakov summarized.
In turn, at the insistence of the Pridnestrovie’s party, the agenda included the plan of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces’ main organisational arrangements for 2015.
“It’s a certain success because it’s rather difficult to have the cooperation between the peacekeeping forces there without the coordinated actions. We hope that the document will be implemented,” Oleg Belyakov noted.
The head of the Pridnestrovie’s delegation also hoped that the further work of the JCC will be constructive.
