Pridnestrovie’s President urged to improve the republic’s judicial system further
Evgeny Shevchuk addressed to the attendees in the conference room of the official reception house and noted that the citizens’ credibility to the court increased in the recent years considerably.
“The positive point is that people in courts even more often appeal against any public authorities’ decisions, i.e. of the regional and municipal ones as well as the President’s decisions,” the Head of State told accordingly.
The Pridnestrovie’s President also noted that this day there was a risk of the criminal infiltration from the neighboring countries caused by difficult economic and social situation there.
During the Supreme Court’s plenum the Head of State pointed out the relevance of the courts’ and public authorities’ Electronic Data Base unification especially concerning the judicial enforcement service. “The Electronic Data Base unification will make it possible to minimize the late judgment executions number and to increase the responsible authorities’ efficiency in this area,” Evgeny Shevchuk explained.
Among other recommendations to the Supreme Court representatives, the President’s appeal for the penalties unification imposed by the different courts for the same illegal acts should be noted. According to Evgeny Shevchuk, the Prednistrovians cannot understand it when one court pronounces the minimum punishment and another one punishes to the maximum under the same mitigating or aggravating circumstances. The President cited the drunk driving as the vivid example and noted that in some cases the penalties were too light.
As the Supreme Court’s judicial board’s chairman on civil matters Maya Taran noted in her plenum report, totally the civil trials’ stamp duty last year the all over the republic amounted to 1 883 849 Pridnestrovie’s rubles that is 452 thousand rubles more than the treasury revenues from this duty in 2013.
