Pridnestrovie’s athletes Denis Tserna and Alina Sandul will participate in the Ping-Pong World Cup

Dubossary athletes are going to China after their victory in the Moldova Cup in Kishinev

The Ping-Pong RM Cup took place in Kishinev on January 24. It’s the third of four qualifying tournaments. The athletes were selected there for the participation in the World Cup that will take place in China in April this year.

More than 100 athletes took part in the tournament. The Pridnestrovie’s athletes became the best as in two previous qualifying tournaments (TOP of Moldova and the RM Federation Cup).

According to the Dubossary Ping-Pong Sports School’s vice-principal Elena Barba, Denis Tserna added 16 more points to his 32 after their victory in the RM Cup. 48 points made him superior to his rivals. One more Dubossarian has many chances to go to China, i.e. the Sports Master Ivan Danilov who took the 4th place and scored 26 points.

The whole podium was taken by the Dubossary athletes as well as in two previous tournaments among women. The winner of the RM Cup became the Sports Master Alina Sandul once again scoring 48 points. She took the 1st place in total results and began preparing for the World Cup. The Sports Master Ekaterina Shmyganovskaya took the 2nd place after the three tournaments scoring 36 points. The International Class Sports Master Olga Bliznets took the third place and also scored 36 points. Elizabeth Medvetski scored 34 points according to the overall ranking. These Dubossary women athletes will also compete for two remained vacancies to China. The results will be known after the RM Championship on February 28.
