Economic relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova remain difficult

95% of blockade measures against the Pridnestrovie’s economic agents still remain

The Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Vitaly Ignatyev reported this during the info marathon live show of the Pridnestrovie’s First Channel. According to him, the economic relations both with Moldova and with the European Union suffer big problems. The Moldova’s policy causes them speeding up the negotiations with the EU ignoring the Pridnestrovie’s standpoint and the interests of its economic agents.

“In a perfect world, there should be a mechanism providing open foreign trade for Pridnestrovie and excluding any Moldova’s pressure or negative influence of the third parties involved in the reconciliation process. This could satisfy the requirements of the international arrangements entirely. We continue working in this area,” Vitaly Ignatyev told.

The diplomat mentions that more than 900 economic agents had to register in Moldova and certainly they are suffering financial and administrative pressure due to this ‘defective mechanism’. “We can’t see any way out here but to defer to the Pridnestrovie’s standpoint. We are working with our European partners closely, but they still find it difficult to explain how Pridnestrovie can promote its interests and carry out its foreign economic activities after the trade privileges termination,” the Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister emphasized.

Vitaly Ignatyev reported that Pridnestrovie’s party had submitted the mechanism based on the additional protocol resolution which could enable the work of the Pridnestrovie’s economic agents.

“The EU extended the trade privileges agreement for the Pridnestrovie’s enterprises until the end of 2015, though it was declared initially that after the association and Free Trade Zone Agreement signing these regulations will be cancelled. So we see that they understand the problem and face the facts. We make comprehensive efforts on that front,” Vitaly Ignatyev told.
