They have to confirm their permanent residence within the Pridnestrovie’s territory for this purpose. Any other demands or threats from the border police of Moldova are illegal
So, today the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Prime Minister on the International Cooperation Nina Shtanski commented on the information concerning the passport control process at the Kishinev airport when the border police of RM demands from citizens of Pridnestrovie to show the passports of Moldova, including the Moldova residence permit.
As it appears from the inquiries to the MFA, if the Pridnestrovie’s citizens don’t have these documents they are warned of possible refusal in crossing the Moldova’s state border in the future.
"We repeatedly addressed to the Moldavian party for clearing up this sensitive issue. At the moment we have an official written declaration that the border police of RM hasn’t any rules or instructions concerning the special order of crossing the Moldavian border for the Pridnestrovie’s citizens. It means that, same as before, all Pridnestrovie’s citizens still have the right to cross the Moldovian border freely since January, 2014. They have to confirm their permanent residence within the Pridnestrovie’s territory for this purpose. This can be the Pridnestrovie’s passport or any other document confirming the permanent address of residence in this or that city of the republic," the Foreign Affairs Minister explained.
So, on the departure or on the arrival in the Kishinev airport it takes the Pridnestrovie’s citizens only to show the international passport with a mark of the foreign diplomatic mission’s consular register accredited by Moldova’s authorities (e.g.: the Embassy of the Russian Federation or Ukraine in the Republic of Moldova) or to show the confirmation of the travel document received in this diplomatic mission.
"And what's more, the agreement reached by the means of negotiations allows the Pridnestrovie’s citizens to write and lodge the application confirming that he permanently lives in Pridnestrovie," Nina Shtanski added.
Any other demands or threats from the RM border police are illegal, the Pridnestrovie’s MFA emphasized.
