Branch of Crimean High School of Olympic Reserve may appear in Pridnestrovie

This was stated at the board of Pridnestrovie's State Agency for Sports by its head, Ivan Timotin

According to him, the State Agency for Sports is carrying on correspondence with Crimea's ministry of sports on opening a branch of the Crimean High School of Olympic Reserve in Pridnestrovie.

"We have already received an official answer from them. They are in a transition period now - they must adopt the Russian legislation by 1 January. After 1 January 2015 they will consider our proposal," said Ivan Timotin, adding that opening this branch is very convenient in terms of geographical position and allows our athletes to officially appear for Russia's national teams.

The head of the agency also announced for the following year the formation of a sports company under the Ministry of Defence. "We hope this unit will have been formed by spring," he said.

Besides, the possibility of organising medical examination of athletes in the polyclinics of Rybnitsa, Bendery and Tiraspol is being contemplated (now only Tiraspol has a special clinic for athletes).

The head of the agency also highlighted the need to build an indoor arena for holding international competitions, as well as for better training of athletes.

It should be noted that from 2013 to October 2014 the Pridnestrovian athletes won 16 gold, 17 silver and 12 bronze medals at official international competitions. "Our country is fond of sports and shows very strong results," underscored Ivan Timotin.
