Athletes from Pridnestrovie, Ukraine, Moldova and Gagauzia took part in the tournament
Last weekend Pridnestrovie hosted the Open International Powerlifting and Benchpress Cup under the auspices of the World Powerlifting Congress. The competition was attended by the strongest "Iron Game" athletes from Ukraine, Moldova, Gagauzia and Pridnestrovie.
Dubossary's athletes competed in four divisions of the Open Cup WPC-2014 and managed to win four gold medals.
The 2103 world champion, Denis Rayul (wheelchair para-athlete) took a gold medal in the Junior division (20-23) in the weight class up to 67.5 kg. Tatyana Sukhodol, a para-athlete, was the best under 52 kg in the Open division. Yaroslav Kitsul topped the standings in the Teen division under 52 kg. Zinaida Iov, a coach and two-time world champion, won a gold medal in the honourable Masters-1 division in the weight class up to 56 kg.
The Dubossary team was supported by the head of the Dubossary administration, Fyodor Kovalyov, the republican movement Priznanie and Dubossary district of the Black Sea Cossack Forces.
