Such statistics were voiced at the meeting between the leadership of Pridnestrovie's Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the Czech ambassador to Moldova, Jaromír Kvapil
The ambassador took interest in the economic changes which had taken place in Pridnestrovie in the past two years and development prospects for the following few years. The parties also discussed the cooperation between Pridnestrovian and Czech businessmen and the potential for increasing trade turnover between the countries.
According to Pridnestrovie's CCI president, Vasily Kozhan, the mutual trade volume between Pridnestrovie and the Czech Republic has grown by 40% in 2014 compared to the same period of last year and exceeded 4.5 million USD, and Pridnestrovie's exports to the Czech Republic exceed the imports by 0.5 million USD.
Vasily Kozhan expressed confidence in the possibility of increasing by times the trade turnover between the countries. The president also noted the need for the development of tourism.
According to the CCI vice-president, Yuri Ganin, Czech businessmen may develop cooperation with such Pridnestrovie's machine builders as ZAO Zavod Moldavizolit, ZAO Moldavkabel, OAO Litmash and NP ZAO Elektromash.
"These enterprises may show interest not only in supplying their production to the Czech market, but also in procuring raw material and equipment or spare parts for Škoda machines installed at some enterprises," says the report.
The embassy counsellor on consular and political issues, Jan Husak, supported the CCI leadership and expressed willingness to assist in the organisation of two-way communication through business-mission
Following the meeting at Pridnestrovie's CCI, the Czech diplomats visited ZAO TVKZ KVINT and ZAO Moldavian GRES, where they had meetings with the management and saw the manufacturing capacities.
