This was stated by the president during today's news conference
"Pridnestrovie does not implement any government campaigns and activities related to sending officially or unofficially its representatives to Ukraine's conflict zone," said the head of state during the news conference at MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
"We don't execute total control over our citizens' cross-border movements, as well as their purposes of leaving the country. Pridnestrovie is a democratic republic, and the citizens have the right to cross borders in any directions if they have corresponding documents," he concluded.
As reported by RIA Novosti, this April Kiev's authorities launched an "anti-terrorist" operation in Ukraine's eastern regions against citizens opposing to February's coup. According to UN statistics, about 3,200 civilians became victims of the armed conflict, and more than 8,000 were wounded as for 11 September. The sides have been conducting negotiations in Minsk through intermediary of Russia and the OSCE. On 5 September they agreed on armistice and a number of questions relating to the region's status (Minsk protocol), and on 19 September a nine-clause memorandum was worked out to provide the protocol's implementation. International observers in the region say the cease-fire is generally observed.
