At the same time its export-import transactions with Ukraine has decreased by 13% compared to the same period of last year
According to the State Customs Committee, one of the biggest budget-making enterprises in Pridnestrovie, JSC Moldova Steel Works (MMZ), still has a considerable influence on indices of the republic's foreign-economic activities. However, since this business entity had stood idle until August last year, the comparison characteristics of Pridnestrovie's foreign-economic activities displayed positive dynamics in the period from January to August 2014.
According to the customs statistics, the share of JSC MMZ accounts for 16% of Pridnestrovie's total turnover. The import of ferrous metal has increased more than fourfold, and the export more than nine times.
Thus, Pridnestrovie's foreign trade turnover increased by 23% in January-August 2014 compared to the same period of 2013. The exports increased by 59%, and the imports by 11%.
Over seven months of the current year the main trading partners among the CIS members were Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, whereas Poland, Germany, Romania and Italy among far-abroad countries.
The share of CIS countries accounted for 71% of Pridnestrovie's foreign trade turnover in January-August 2014 (the imports - 52%; the exports - 19%). The turnover with CIS countries increased by 21% over the analysed period (the imports increased by 15.9%; the exports by 36.8%).
According to the customs statistics, the turnover with Russia, Moldova, Belarus and Kazakhstan has increased. The turnover with Russia increased by 22% compared to January-August 2013 (the exports by 29.4%; the imports by 20.9%). The turnover with Moldova increased by 59.8% (the exports by 42.3%; the imports by 2.3 times). The turnover with Belarus increased by 38.3% (the exports by 45.4%; the imports by 38.2%).
At the same time the turnover with Ukraine decreased by 13.6% (the exports increased by 28.7%, and the imports decreased by 18.7%).
The foreign trade turnover with far-abroad countries accounted for 29% of Pridnestrovie's total turnover in January-August 2014 (the imports - 16%; the exports - 13%). The turnover with far-abroad countries increased by 29% compared to the same period of 2013 (the imports decreased by 29.4%; the exports increased by 2.1 times). Besides, there was a slowdown of turnover with China.
