Dubossary Republican School of Table Tennis hosts Olympic Day

June 22, the Republican School of Table Tennis hosted a tournament on the International Olympic Day.

The tournament was attended by more than 100 athletes who competed in two age groups, the News of Pridnestrovie IA cited Elena Barbu, a deputy head of the school, as saying.

In the senior age group the results are as follows: 1 - Demik Ying, Master of Sports, 2 - Svyatoslav Gatskan, 3 - Sergey Melnik.

In the junior age group the results are as follows: 1 - Elizaveta Vakarchuk, 2 - Maxim Spiridonov, 3 - Pavel Denisov.

All the participants were awarded honorary diplomas signed by Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee and were gifted T-shirts with Olympic emblems.

"The school is a regular participant of the Olympic movement. Dubossary's tennis players  participated and won different medals at the Special Olympics in Minneapolis, USA," said Elena Barbu.
