Pridnestrovie's State Customs Committee: collection of customs revenues remaining at planned level

Changing the order of pricing in the trade turnover allows for maintaining the same level of customs revenues.

Despite a slight slowdown of the trade turnover (without regard to the major budget revenue generating enterprises, such as MMZ, MGRES, Tirotex), the collection of customs revenues to the Republican budget is being maintained at the planned level. This was voiced by Svetlana Klimenkova, acting Chairperson of  the State Customs Committee (SCC), during the talk with journalists.

"More than 35% of revenues come from the foreign trade activity," the head of the SCC recalled.

According to her, maintaining the same level of the customs revenues has been enabled by the changing order of pricing in the trade turnover.

"We may have collected the same volume in quantitative terms, but in terms of pricing there has been an increase," Svetlana Klimenkova underscored.

She also noted that even a slight 2% growth in trade turnover may cause a 10%  increase in customs revenues.

One of the most acute problems the Pridnestrovian foreign trade faces is economic barriers posed by Moldova.

Despite a declarative abolition by the Moldavian side of import excise taxes and environmental taxes for Pridnestrovian exporters, a number of economic agents - about ten of them, according to Svetlana Klimenkova - have been paying double taxes up to now.
"Our colleagues from Moldova's customs service has not commented on this issue yet," the First Deputy of the Interior Minister concluded.
