Tiraspol, January, 22. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Chairman of the Russian Federation State Duma Committee on the International Affairs Alexey Pushkov considers that opening of the Representation of Pridnestrovie in Moscow will promote the further strengthening of interaction between our countries.
«In my opinion, Pridnestrovie is of great importance for Russia: Russia enjoys absolute support among Pridnestrovians. We feel that we are the uniform nation. It is impossible to speak about the existence of Pridnestrovians separately from Russia or about Russia separately from Pridnestrovians. We are a union nation, we feel it. I know that there are very warm sympathy and high extent of support to Pridnestrovie both in the Russian public opinion and in power structures. And the fact that now there is an Official Representation will promote further consolidation of our contacts», - Alexey Pushkov emphasized.
The Chairman of the Russian Federation State Duma Committee on the International Affairs also noted that Russia and Pridnestrovie were artificially broken off as a result of the disordered, unreasoned and irresponsible disintegration of the Soviet Union. But even in these conditions, without having the general border, the countries are kept by such strong relations. According to Pushkov, it is merit, first of all, of the Pridnestrovian people and their representatives and Russia which, despite numerous appeals from the foreign states to turn away, forget, to adopt the concept of «the cut-off piece», will not accept it.
«I wish Pridnestrovie prosperity, success, tranquillity, peace and happiness, and we will try to help you. In particular, I am sure that your Representation will become an active point of gathering of your friends and interactions between main Russia and small Russia which Pridnestrovie is», - the deputy of the State Duma concluded.
