President of the PMR offered Moldova to make a determination on the development vector without Pridnestrovie

Vadim Krasnoselsky told the journalist of the TVC why he had rejected an offer to hold a referendum on association of two countries

Tiraspol, October 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky answered the questions of the journalist of the Russian TV channel 'TV Center'. The head of state told about the situation in the country and the relationship with the neighboring Moldova.

During the interview, Vadim Krasnoselsky explained to the journalist why he had rejected an offer to hold a referendum on association of two countries.

"This offer hasn't any practical grounds. First, our people had already made a decision. We have the results of the Referendum-2006. The State Duma of the Russian Federation confirmed the referendum results and stated that it had been open, democraticall and, of course, legal. And the voice of Pridnestrovians has to be heard. As for Moldova's common referendum, we have different legal systems," he told and also noted that, according to the law of the RM, only those who had citizenship of Moldova had a right to participate in the referendum, and not so many people had it in the PMR, and there was a question whether their opinion would be considered.

The President noted that the Pridnestrovians unlike Moldovans were consolidated in their choice.

"The statement of politicians is not a defining moment, there are only the people who define. The people have to say what they want. The people are separated in Moldova. One part looks to the Western Europe, and the other part - to Russia. Let them hold a referendum, and they will choose their vector of the development. Then it will be clear to us where Moldova looks," the Pridnestrovie's President emphasized.
