Tiraspol, 23 October. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovians have come back from the World Festival of Youth and Students, which was held in Russia's Sochi. The delegation included Supreme Council members Viktor Guzun, Vadim Doni, Galina Antyufeyeva, as well as Youth Parliament members. They held a press conference today to share the results of the festival.
Over 32,000 people, representing 188 countries, came to Sochi. Although our delegation was one of the smallest, it was so active that the whole world learnt about Pridnestrovie. The Pridnestrovians gave to their peers from various countries badges with the Pridnestrovian national symbols. Especially popular among the youth were composite coins, the Supreme Council's press service reports.
Our guys won first places in various sporting events, took part in lectures with the involvement of eminent Russian politicians and government officials.
"We can see that Russia has recently begun to bank on young politicians in terms of state administration. This is testified by the election of young technocrats as Russian governors, which was supported by the Russian president. State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced the expansion of Russia's Youth Parliament. These are the very means of social mobility that bring capable and talented young people to the peak of state administration. They form a good employment pool for today's authorities," noted Guzun. According to him, Pridnestrovie should pursue a similar HR policy.
A preliminary agreement has been reached with Igor Gribanov who supervises the all-Russian project Territory of Development, aimed at developing education. It is possible that in the future some of the young Pridnestrovians will find themselves in a high-tech complex in Anapa.
The Pridnestrovian youth established new contacts in Sochi and developed existing cooperation. They agreed to exchange projects, visit each other, take part in various youth events. In particular, the Ministry of Public Education of the PMR plans to hold a Russian-Pridnestrovian youth forum.
Special gratitude went to festival volunteers. Their experience should be used in Pridnestrovie, young MPs believe.
"There, in Sochi, we felt we, our Pridnestrovie, are part of something big and huge, called planet Earth," said the guys at the end of the press conference.
