Tiraspol, 6 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. An important achievement of Pridnestrovie's state machinery over the past five years was abandoning a multi-vector strategy and adoption in 2016 of a foreign policy concept, President Shevchuk said in an interview with RTR Moldova.
«We said clearly, transparently and openly that our main vector was the development of strategic ties with the Russian Federation, but at the same time we were ready to establish friendly relations with our neighbours first of all. The strategy was clear and precise and it has yielded positive results," said Yevgeny Shevchuk
Thus, according to him, after a statement on the necessity of Eurasian integration, one of the biggest projects, ANO Eurasian Integration, was launched in Pridnestrovie, which was aimed at forming a life environment for Pridnestrovian citizens. A post of special envoy of the Russian president on Pridnestrovie, now headed by Russia's vice-premier Dmitry Rogozin, was also introduced.
«More than 300 objects in Pridnestrovie have been covered by various repair works over these five years. Of course, many of them are education and healthcare facilities. Because these objects form a life environment and, most importantly, shape the future for our little Pridnestrovians. [The state] needs kindergartens, needs schools, needs universities for life, and of course any state needs a healthy nation. It is impossible to have a healthy nation without modern medicine, without up-to-date equipment, without skilled personnel," said the president.
Yevgeny Shevchuk also expressed regret that these issues had been neglected over the past 20 years.
«Around 45 out of 300 objects became part of the Russian project, for which we are grateful to the Russian leadership. All those objects were assigned to certain officials, and I as the president tried to assist so that those repair works were implemented efficiently and in the shortest possible time. We do need them. What is laid now will work for people's benefit, I believe, for decades," concluded the president.
