UK embassy to Moldova plans to implement a number of education, research and cultural projects in PMR

The MFA has received a delegation of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Tiraspol, 12 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The deputy foreign minister, Dmitry Palamarchuk, has met the deputy head of the British mission to Moldova, Neil Martin. The meeting was also attended by the regional conflict adviser at the UK embassy to Ukraine, Patrick Tobin.

According to the MFA's press service, the sides exchanged views on a number of pressing issues of bilateral cooperation. In particular, they discussed specific parameters of education, research and cultural projects the British embassy proposes to implement in Pridnestrovie.

Dmitry Palamarchuk highlighted certain aspects of the ongoing dialogue between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, focusing on a low dynamics of cooperation at the level of expert working groups caused by Moldova's reluctance to communicate substantively and systematically.

The deputy minister also emphasised the necessity of taking a number of practical steps aiming to solve the problem of politically motivated criminal prosecution against Pridnestrovian citizens, as well as existing economic contradictions between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.

The sides agreed to further maintain contact on issues of mutual interest.
