Grigory Karasin: Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement must exclude any unilateral actions

President Yevgeny Shevchuk met Russia's deputy foreign minister Grigory Karasin in Tiraspol

Tiraspol, 29 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian president hold a meeting with Russia's deputy foreign minister Grigory Karasin. Greeting a distinguished guest, the head of state expressed gratitude to Russia's leadership for the implementation of a number of humanitarian projects in Pridnestrovie aimed at supporting pensioners, developing education and healthcare.

«I want to express gratitude for support and the implementation by ANO Eurasian Integration of the whole range of projects for the construction of social facilities. These include both kindergartens and education institutions and healthcare facilities," said Yevgeny Shevchuk.

He underscored that thanks to the Russian assistance it is possible now to diagnose and perform the operations that were earlier performed only abroad.

He also thanked the diplomat for the implementation of a humanitarian and educational project for the substitution of the book stock of Pridnestrovie's Russian-language schools.

Grigory Karasin noted that implementing this project, the Russian Federation realises that Pridnestrovie's economy depends on external factors.

«Unfortunately, in the past years there have been the crisis phenomena that shake all ex-USSR countries and Europe in general. The more important, in this respect, is the implementation of all the agreements, including the Rogozin-Shevchuk protocol, which was signed not long ago and refers to nearly every aspect of Pridnestrovie's live," said Karasin.

The Russian diplomat also dwelt on the results of his talks with the Moldovan leadership. Karasin underscored that Russia's goal is to promote the resumption of a constructive Moldo-Pridnestrovian dialogue.

«We are still confident that a direct dialogue between Kishinev and Tiraspol is necessary," noted the Russian diplomat. Grigory Karasin emphasised, in the meantime, that negotiations must be based on the principles stipulated in international agreements, on the principles of mutual respect, recognising that this is a mutually necessary process which must exclude any unilateral activities not coordinated with the other side.
