Tiraspol, 29 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The MFA hosted a meeting of the deputy foreign minister, Igor Shornikov, with RISS scientific fellow Georgy Menyailo. The expert has come to Pridnestrovie to galvanise the work of the RISS Dniester-Prut Centre. Earlier, representatives of the centre's leadership and a number of RISS experts were deported from Moldova from Kishinev airport
Greeting the guest, Igor Shornikov rated high the level of cooperation between Pridnestrovie's foreign ministry and RISS.
«For many years we have been cooperating in information and media spheres, developing contacts in scientific and practical areas and providing assistance to the centre's initiatives in the sphere of youth policy," said the diplomat.
He also noticed that Moldova's recurrent attempts to hinder the activity of RISS in Pridnestrovie had failed to prevent the implementation of Dniester-Prut Centre projects. Igor Shornikov underscored in this context that the arrival of an RISS expert for permanent work in Pridnestrovie would give extra impetus to the implementation of social, cultural, scientific and educational programmes.
Georgy Menyailo informed the host on RISS's activities in Pridnestrovie in 2016. «We have planned a range of scientific and expert events in the socio-economic sphere, which are supposed to be carried out both in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and at the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies in Moscow. Our social programmes will be continued and extended; in January annual patriotic contests for the Pridnestrovian youth and children will be launched," said the expert.
According to the guest, a full list of the projects planned for 2016 will be delivered to the Pridnestrovian side at the earliest possible date, the MFA press service reports.
