Tiraspol, 29 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The year of 2015 was a special one regarding the renewal of textbook funds in Pridnestrovian schools, said the deputy minister, Svetlana Turchak, during the last session of the Education Ministry Board.
«There was an unprecedented situation when funds were supplemented from three sources. The first source was the Russian-Pridnestrovian project for the renewal of textbook funds, at whose cost Russian-language schools have received 517,200 books. The second source was purchasing textbooks at the expense of textbook fees (7,892 books). The third source was the state-run programme Textbook. Following the tender results, schools will receive 4,460 books," said Svetlana Turchak, adding that the total number of new books supplied to the country's schools was 529,552.
She also said that the provision of Russian language schools with latest generation textbooks is 105.8%; the provision of Moldavian language schools is 37% and that of Ukrainian language schools is 43%.
