Yevgeny Shevchuk considers that one must stand trial for defamation or insults

The President declared it at the meeting with Grigoriopol citizens

Grigoriopol, November 19./Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In conversation with Grigoriopol residents, President Yevgeny Shevchuk brought up a topic concerning the future elections of MPs and deputies to the local councils of the republic. In this context, the head of state noted the unprecedented level of insults and defamation used during the election campaign.

Yevgeny Shevchuk considers that it is necessary to amend the Criminal Code in order to provide amenability for defamation and insults. The President hopes that new Supreme Council will be rather efficient to approach constructively both the solution of this issue and lawmaking in the field of anti-recessionary measures.

Also, the head of state asked citizens to vote not for a separate party or business interests, but for the state interests.
