That was announced by Pridnestrovie's President Yevgeny Shevchuk during a solemn ceremony of honouring the Great Patriotic War veterans, which took place today in Tiraspol in the presence of Russia's Ambassador to Moldova Farit Mukhametishin. The head of state noted that Pridnestrovie's MFA had received a corresponding telegram from Sergey Gubarev, ambassador at large of Russia's foreign ministry.
The telegram said the book had been sent to the Central Museum of the Russian Armed Forces and the First European Department of Russia's MFA, which has close ties with French colleagues.
«Dear Igor Rostislavovich,
I take a great pleasure, as a veteran’s son, to congratulate you on the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War. I am sure that your bright recollections will enable us to view from a new perspective the cooperation between the Soviet Union and France during the Great Patriotic War," noted Sergey Gubarev in the salutary address.
