Pridnestrovian president says information on military build-up near Ukraine's border false

Yevgeny Shevchuk: "Unfortunately, a number of Ukraine's media and officials provide, to put it mildly, inaccurate information"

As reported by  RIA Novosti, this was stated by the head of state during a news conference at MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

"When there are attempts to accuse Pridnestrovie of preparing military invasion of Ukraine and concentrating its armed forces near Ukraine's border, this information is not only inaccurate, it is false. When there are attempts to connect it with Donetsk events, we regard it as an attempt of some political forces to organise or provoke a conflict on the Pridnestrovian border," said Yevgeny Shevchuk.

He recalled that Tiraspol had made an official request to Ukraine's authorities to discuss this issue and to the OSCE mission in Chisinau to inspect Pridnestrovie.

"By a strange coincidence ... the OSCE does not back our initiative for some reason. It is strange. If the international organisation acknowledged the absence of military preparations, I believe, the escalation would be minimised," underscored the president.
