Pridnestrovie is concerned about the offensive weapons’ supplies to Moldova

Neither Moldovan nor EU nor OSCE officials can provide clear explanations for these purchases, the PMR President noted

Tiraspol, December 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky in an interview with of Pridnestrovian television channels’ chief editors noted that Pridnestrovie was monitoring offensive weapons’ supplies to Moldova and was concerned about the evolving situation.

According to the President, while the weapons supplied were clearly defensive (such as air defense systems), there was no particular concern. However, Moldova then acquired offensive weapons.

“For instance, 152 mm wheeled howitzers with a firing range of up to 42 kilometers. I’m asking my colleagues from the OSCE, my European colleagues, as well as others: But for what purpose? I wonder, where are you planning to fire? They say, there’s a war in Ukraine, of course, the state has to be armed. Of course, I see it. But for what purpose offensive howitzers with a firing range of up to 42 kilometers. Do you understand? That’s the question. And no one has really answered it clearly,” the PMR President noted.

The whole President’s interview will be broadcast on the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel and TSV. An audio version will also be available on Radio 1. Also, you can read interview on the Novosti Pridnestrovya news agency website and in the Pridnestrovie newspaper.
