The President attended a flower-laying ceremony to mark the 233rd anniversary of Tiraspol.

Tiraspol is celebrating its 233rd anniversary. City Day celebrations are not directly linked to Tiraspol's founding date or to the anniversary of its first mention in chronicles like other cities. October 14 was established as Tiraspol City Day in 1998. Previously, the city's name day had been a floating date. It has become common for city residents to tie City Day to the Orthodox feast of the Protection of the Mother of God. Secular and religious celebrations are held in parallel. This festive morning was filled with the ringing of church bells in Tiraspol. Official events, attended by top government officials and city officials, began at the capital's Glory Memorial. This is a tradition. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the defenders who gave their lives for the peace and well-being of Tiraspol residents at various stages of history. A presidential wreath was laid at the Eternal Flame, a basket at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier memorial, and a scattering of flowers on the stone slabs and at the monument pedestals.

Not only are the military exploits of Tiraspol residents immortal; their peacetime military service is also invaluable. The city has been awarded four Orders: the Order of the Patriotic War, First Class, for its contribution to Victory; the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, for post-war restoration and development of the economy and culture; the Order of the Republic, for its contribution to the successful development of the republic; and the Order of Catherine the Great, for the significant contribution of its residents to the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage and traditions, and the development and strengthening of the economic and social potential of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
